In the May 2 local school elections, MEA locals in 90 school districts participated by recommending candidates for school board races or supporting millage/bond proposals. MEA members helped to elect 89 candidates to school board positions. Four out of seven write-in candidates were elected. Out of the 49 millage/bond proposals, 36 passed with local association support.
