How can you help to Get Out the Vote?
Candidates who support public education will win Nov. 2, if MEA members get to the polls. Please volunteer to ensure that MEA members and your family, friends, and neighbors vote in this important election.
Here's what you can do:
- Set an example by making sure that you cast your ballot. If you know that you will be unable to get to your voting place, you can request an absentee ballot.
- Ask your spouse, parents, grown children, or other family members who are registered voters to vote for candidates who support you and the students you serve. Take five minutes to tell them why you're supporting specific candidates --and ask them to do the same with at least one other registered voter. - Candidates statewide are knocking on doors and calling voters every day. You can help distribute literature, staff a phone bank, or perform other tasks. Learn how you can volunteer.
