STOP THE ATTACKS -- GIVE TO PAC

Massive budget cuts. Emergency financial managers. Elimination of collective bargaining rights. Loss of union rights.

No...it's not Wisconsin. These attacks and more are coming from your Michigan lawmakers.

It's time to stop the attacks on public education and Michigan's Middle Class.

How can you help do that?

By giving to MEA-PAC! PAC contributions from MEA members are used to help elect true friends of public education -- lawmakers who understand the importance of partnering with educators, not attacking them.

Make a difference today by making either a one-time or a recurring contribution to MEA-PAC online.

THANK YOU ESP and SMEA Conference Participants

A big THANK YOU to the attendees at the 2011 MEA Education Support Professionals and Student MEA Conferences, who this weekend raised a combined $3,590 for MEA-PAC.

At the ESP Conference, 153 members gave a total of $3,180, while 57 Student MEA members dipped into their college pizza money to give a total of $410.

MEA-PAC needs your help to support candidates who support public education

Every decision that impacts public school employees is made by an elected or appointed official.

That's why it is so important that local associations and individual MEA members get involved and stay involved in the political process.

Your contributions to MEA's political action committee (PAC) help support pro-education candidates in local, regional, and statewide races. If you choose to contribute to the NEA Fund for Children and Public Education, that money is spent on federal candidates.

Donations to PAC will help 2010 candidates

Election Day 2010 – exactly one year from today – will be a watershed event in Michigan. Voters will choose a new governor, elect state and federal lawmakers, and likely decide several ballot initiatives.

To ensure that pro-public education candidates are elected, please consider making a donation to MEA’s Political Action Committee (MEA-PAC) or to the NEA Fund for Children and Public Education. Donate securely online with a one-time or recurring donation using a credit card or electronic funds transfer from your checking account.

AND DON'T FORGET TO VOTE TUESDAY!

Many school districts and municipalities are holding important elections on Tuesday, Nov. 3 – make sure your voice is heard loud and clear by voting for friends of public education and supporting pro-public school ballot measures.

Why PAC?

Public education institutions are probably the most political of any in this country. Why? You may ask.
