The National Education Association invited all Democratic and Republican presidential candidates to participate in its recommendation process. Republican Governor Mike Huckabee (Arkansas) and the following seven Democratic candidates participated in the screening process:
No presidential candidates from either party have been recommended to members by NEA or MEA at this time.
