As a product of Detroit Public Schools, I know firsthand the importance of quality education and healthy learning environments. I oppose legislation that weaken public schooling and will advocate for resources that provide effective teacher training, reduce class size, promote safer school, and provide every student with books and the necessary tools for learning. I will work hard to improve the gaps in achievement among low-income and minority students in my community.
